KYBELLA® uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a molecule that occurs naturally in the body and aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat. During treatment, we will administer a series of small injections under the chin. Once injected, KYBELLA® dissolves fat cells in the treated area, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells will no longer be able to store or accumulate fat.
Who is a good candidate for a KYBELLA® treatment?
Good candidates for KYBELLA® are people who are not happy with the appearance of their chin and neck area. KYBELLA® may be an excellent alternative for people who have not been able to reduce fat in this area with diet and exercise and who prefer to not undergo liposuction surgery.
How many KYBELLA® treatments will I need?
This varies depending on the chin profile and amount of fat in the area that each individual patient experiences. Before treatment begins, our Doctor or Nurse Practitioner will examine the chin area to determine the most suitable treatment plan. Most patients typically undergo 1-6 treatments, spaced 1 month apart.
